Comments: This card used to be a popular
choice for Vsyncmame setups. It does, however, work flawlessly
with Advancemame and AdvanceMENU as well. Though this card
works reasonably well with DMAME, occasionally you will have
to specify which VESA mode for a game to use, Gorf being one
example. Quality differed a little by manufacturer between
cards, Aopen making the nicest one I tested. I have to admit,
after tinkering with this card for a while I grew quite fond
of its capabilities. Though in Windows this card is painfully
slow, in DOS mode it performs well. For cab owners with true
arcade monitors who could care about 32bit color or AGP 2.0
support, I very much recommend this card. For those looking
to replace this card with one that supports 32-bit color modes
that is AGP 2.0 compliant, Trident's Blade T64 is a good alternative.
Not that you need it to run anything, but this card worked
great with Scitech's Display Doctors univbe TSR. Note, that
even with the univbe driver loaded, you still won't get 32-bit
color support. This card is also supported by MonArc's TSR
and Saka's 15kHz Windows driver, making arcade cab setups
fairly straight forward. You can download their drivers here
and here.

Comments: There was a subtle, but noticeable
difference in quality between this card and the one made by
Aopen. The pictures weren't as sharp or as bright.
Notes: This card is not VGA compliant. It
will not work with advancecab advancevga. Use MonArc's TSR
instead for 15kHz setups.
